| Working to Eliminate Hunger |
 |

Since 1981, the West Seattle Food Bank has worked to eliminate hunger in our community - providing food and other basic supplies, plus education and referral services to neighbors in need.
Staff and Volunteers
The West Seattle Food Bank has two full-time and three part-time staff who are assisted by more than 50 volunteers each week. Over 225 people donated more than 9,500 hours of service in 2004. Executive Director, Frances Yeatts, was awarded the Mayors End Hunger Award in 2004 for extraordinary commitment to alleviating hunger in the community.
Our Vision For The Future
On June 1st, 2007 the West Seattle Food Bank celebrated it's Grand Opening at our new facility, the West Seattle Comunity Resource Center and One Community Commons. This building is our new home, plus provides space for other social service agencies to offer services and outreach while clients receive food. Permanent office space for at least four other social service agencies and 34 units of affordable housing is included in the facility.
Our vision for this Resource Center is that it will offer hope, along with resources to build self-esteem and personal security, while reconnecting families to support networks.
The Resource Center is an integral part of the three projects | one community campaign an innovative, comprehensive community development project that will improve the lives of more than 25,000 West Seattle residents each year.
